Guest Bio:

Gerald Palumbo

Gerald Palumbo is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from La Roche College in Pittsburgh in 1984 with a BS in Interior Design. and moved to New York City in 1985 to pursue a career in design. While working for both Interior Design and Architectural Firms in NYC, Gerald worked part-time for the very flower shop that he would go on to own.  Gerald’s passion was always in flowers, even as a child.  Both of his parents were avid gardeners and his mother was especially fond of growing flowers.  In August of 1989, Gerald Palumbo officially became the owner of the flower shop.  It was renamed Seasons A Floral Design Studio and with his business partner, Daniel Munoz, the duo embarked on a wonderful adventure, transforming their little flower shop on 8th Avenue into one of New York’s finest and most beloved florists.  In addition to their retail business, the business partners have built a specular special events business that provides flowers and décor for everything from the Tony Awards and Broadway galas to social events for both corporate and private clients. Seasons primarily serves the New York tristate area, however, they have been know to travel to Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C., Boston and even as far as Bermuda.  Over the past 20 years, Gerald has developed a remarkable talent for working with set decorator’s and designers for both film and television.  The shop’s work can be seen on several TV series like The Good Wife, The Good Fight, Mr. Robot, and Tales of the City, not to mention several commercials.  Our film credits include: Hide and Seek, Wanted, 5 to 7, and the upcoming film, Marry Me, starring Jennifer Lopez.

In 2013, Palumbo and Munoz expanded their business into Westchester, NY when they opened their second store in the charming river town of Irvington.  Seasons on the Hudson, at 45 Main Street in Irvington, has become the premiere florist in Westchester and is known for their amazing weddings and special events.  In 2017, Palumbo and Munoz founded the “Lyndhurst Flower Show” held at Lyndhurst Castle in Tarrytown; the finest florists in the New York area are invited to provide amazing florals for the various rooms in the castle and let people experience what it may have been like in the 1800’s when the railroad tycoon, Jay Gould, owned the property.  Over the years, Seasons‘ events have expanded to include an exclusive High Tea in a cottage on the property, a charming garden shop and an antique show.  The event is always held the first weekend in April.  Unfortunately it was cancelled this year due to Covid 19.
As the team at Seasons begins their exit from this crazy pandemic, they are looking forward to a very bright future filled will beautiful blossoms and specular events.
